Clarifying your values is necessary but tricky. It’s necessary because clarity is what helps you set your sights on what you exactly want and why. It’s tricky because the feeling of happiness is what helps you know which values are meaningful. Sounds simple but it isn’t. Happiness is not the same thing as feeling satiated. We all get those confused and this is one trap that confuses us. Often we go after satiation, feel good, but only temporarily. That type of happiness doesn’t get into our bones. Further, having clear values isn’t going to get you all the way to real happiness. It can’t remain an ideal. It has to be transformed into an action By bringing those values to life in practical and actionable goals we transform ourselves into happier people.
