Yael Mahfar
L.M.S.W.

Yael is passionate about helping others in their journey through life. Her dream is to aid and watch people grow into their happiest and most peaceful selves. Yael believes that we can not always change our circumstances but we could definitely decide who we become because of them. She is a Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree from the Long Island University School of Social Work and has worked in the Neighborhood Counseling Center in Brooklyn and in the Social Work Counseling Services of Queens.

Yael uses a range of modalities, including emotion focused cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy and motivational interviewing. She is also a Marriage Secrets coach under the training of Leah Richeimer.  Her goal as a social worker is to empower her clients to develop and work towards personal goals in order to create the best lives and foster the most unbelievable relationships. Yael strongly believes that the therapy room is a place where clients should feel safe and heard. Yael has experience with every age group and has worked with those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, difficulties in communication, emotion regulation and everyday life stressors. She looks forward to seeing the changes that each client experiences and the newfound ability to build a fulfilling, healthy, and happy life.
