People come to therapy hoping to feel better. While relieving emotional suffering is an important goal, one question guides Dov’s work: Who is this person behind the symptoms? By seeking to understand the individual’s story, relationships, strengths, struggles, values, and emotional world, therapy can address not only the symptoms themselves, but the deeper patterns that give rise to them. Only then do the symptoms begin to make sense, and the path toward meaningful and lasting change becomes clear.
For more than three decades, Dov Moshe Litwin has helped individuals, couples, adolescents, and families navigate life’s emotional and psychological challenges. His work is grounded in the belief that every person has a unique story, every struggle has meaning, and lasting change begins with understanding the individual before deciding how best to help.
Drawing on extensive clinical experience, Dov tailors his therapeutic approach to the unique needs, strengths, life experiences, and goals of each client. Rather than fitting people into a predetermined model of treatment, he develops a thoughtful understanding of the whole person, allowing the therapeutic approach to emerge naturally from that understanding.
Clients often describe feeling understood in ways they have not experienced before. Within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, warmth, and collaboration, Dov helps people gain greater clarity about themselves, strengthen their resilience, improve their relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
At the heart of Dov’s work is a deep respect for the human capacity to grow. He believes that people are far more than the symptoms they struggle with. Every person has a story waiting to be understood, and within that understanding lies the possibility for meaningful and lasting change.
Professional Experience & Training
Dov Moshe Litwin brings more than thirty years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, adolescents, children, and families. He earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dov is an accredited Clinical Supervisor, providing supervision and mentorship to Master’s-level social work students and clinical interns. His commitment to professional excellence extends beyond his own practice through the education and development of future therapists.
Areas of Clinical Focus
Dov works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, trauma, relationship and marital difficulties, family conflict, parenting challenges, personality dynamics, emotional regulation, men’s issues, and life transitions.
While these are areas of significant clinical experience, Dov believes that effective therapy begins with understanding the individual rather than defining a person by a diagnosis. Every treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to the unique needs, strengths, and goals of the individual sitting before him.
