Dov Moshe Litwin is a licensed practitioner who has over 30 years experience in the field of Social Work. He received his Masters in 1992 from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York and his certificate in Family Therapy and Counseling in 2008 from the Family Institute at Neve Yerushalayim in Jerusalem, Israel. In 2013 -2015, Dov received intensive training in the treatment of Child Sexual Abuse through The Haruv Institute in Israel, and in 2015, was trained by the Israel Association of Psychotherapy in the “SEE FAR CBT” method for treating trauma.

Dov has been a senior therapist for many years at Kav L’Noar, an organization addressing the issues confronting adolescents and their families, until 20’21.  As well, he was selected to join and be trained in the Charedi division of Meytal-Bayit Lechol Yeled  in Israel, in order to treat the sexually abused children of the community, and their families.  His trauma training included working with various modalities.

Dov’s reputation and quality work generated colleges to pursue him to take positions as Supervisor for their Master program students.  Through coursework in Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel, Dov received his official Supervisors accreditation in 2019. Dov currently supervises the students that are doing their Master level field work placements at The Place, as well as supervising The Place’s interns that come through The Place’s Clinical Internship Program.

Dov’s broad 30 years’ experience has earned him the appellation as specialist in Marital issues, Individual Male issues, Young Adults, Adolescents, Children, and Family Dynamic issues.

Dov’s skills are competent and definitive. He engages easily and quickly, providing a warm nonjudgemental atmosphere where clients feel safe and able to grow. His creative style in working with clients and couples, allows him to address even the needs of those who find it difficult to ‘open up’.  Dov possesses the secrets of years of experience which allow him to pick up the subtle nuances in his sessions, uncovering the real issues and bringing his clients to functioning and wellbeing. Dov’s vast profile includes his Juris Doctor Law degree from Yeshiva University’s Cardozo School of Law, his position as Director of Operations for a successful pharmaceutical company, his qualification as a certified Investment Broker, his artistic talents as a musician and composer, his Pre-Med Undergraduate specialty, his position as Developmental Executive at a charitable organization where he worked with groups of lawyers in developing them for lay leadership roles in their communities, and his many years of learning, teaching and counseling at various American Yeshivos.

Dov’s awards include The National Dean’s List, Bar Ilan University’s Award of Excellence and The Kesten Overseas Fellowship Award for excellence in Jewish Communal Service.  He has written articles on various family therapy topics which have appeared in various publications.
