Sara Shur is a graduate student in Bellevue University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and an intern therapist at The Place. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies and brings over 20 years of experience working with adolescents across various educational, community, and youth development settings. Her extensive background in teaching, program leadership, and group facilitation deeply informs her emerging clinical practice.
As a counselor in training, Sara’s areas of interest include maternal mental health, postpartum adjustment, adolescent mental health, anxiety and trauma treatment, and the integration of CBT, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices. She is particularly passionate about supporting women and teens during major life transitions and helping clients build resilience, emotional regulation, and internal safety.
Sara believes in an integrative, relational, and client-centered approach, recognizing that meaningful healing happens when clients feel seen, safe, and understood. In her work as a student therapist, she strives to create a warm, grounded, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their inner worlds and reconnect with their strengths.
Originally from the United States, Sara now resides in Tzfat with her husband and six children, drawing inspiration from her family, community, and the city’s unique spiritual atmosphere
