Barry Ringel is a passionate counselor-in-training currently pursuing his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bellevue University. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he now lives in Jerusalem, where he has committed himself to helping young people find support, strength, and hope.
Barry was drawn to the mental health field through years of working closely with struggling adolescents — many facing trauma, addiction, and feeling lost in their own identity. He has seen firsthand how the right relationship can change the entire direction of a person’s life. These experiences shaped his core belief: healing happens through connection. When someone feels accepted, understood, and valued, they can begin to build healthier relationships — with others and with themselves.
Barry aims to provide every client with a safe and non-judgmental space where they can explore their story, make sense of their emotions, and discover what truly gives their life meaning. He is especially passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults develop resilience early in life — before struggles become lifelong obstacles.
Coming from a Hasidic background and fluent in Yiddish, Barry understands the unique cultural pressures, expectations, and silent difficulties that many youth in Hasidic and Orthodox communities face. His goal is to offer culturally sensitive care where clients feel understood without needing to explain their entire world.
Barry believes that even small steps in healing can open the door to a future filled with more connection, purpose, and self-acceptance
