Nussy Samuel is a highly experienced Clinical Counseling Intern currently pursuing an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Originally hailing from Brooklyn’s Seagate neighborhood, Nussy now resides in Jerusalem with his wife and children. He brings a rich, unique perspective to his clinical training, informed by over fifteen years of direct, hands-on experience mentoring adolescents and young adults who are actively navigating significant life challenges, including trauma, addiction, family instability, and major life transitions.
Nussy’s therapeutic approach is characterized by a warm, grounded, and deeply relational presence. This presence is thoughtfully shaped by both his extensive yeshiva background and his years dedicated to intensive youth work. Clients and colleagues often experience him as genuinely outgoing and highly approachable, fostering an immediate sense of comfort and ease. Crucially, he couples this external engagement with a thoughtful, reflective inner life, enabling him to be fully present and attuned in one-on-one therapeutic work. He is currently completing his internship at The Place, integrating his foundational expertise with formal clinical training.
Nussy’s clinical practice is firmly guided by a fundamental belief in the healing power of authentic human connection and compassionate presence. He holds the conviction that these core elements are essential catalysts that help individuals move effectively toward healing, purpose, and sustainable growth. His professional goal is to leverage his extensive experience and formal education to become a dedicated clinical mental health counselor, expertly supporting clients as they forge meaningful paths toward self-discovery and a richer, more fulfilling life.
