Tamar Varon

Tamar is a certified psychotherapist, and family therapist. She received her Master’s in clinical sociology at the University of North Texas. Her concentration was on the family unit. Recently, she completed her doctorate in clinical psychology. She specialized in complex trauma, and children’s behavioral and emotional challenges. Tamar also completed a certificate of training in art and drama therapy. She also received advanced training in eating disorders and addictions.

Tamar has three decades of experience working with families, couples, teens, and children. She treats depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, phobias, eating disorders, addictions, and conflicted relationships.
 
Her work is with individuals or couples both privately and in groups or workshops. Tamar uses her insight, sensitivity, and encouragement to help make positive changes.
Tamar uses an eclectic approach. She draws from many approaches like CBT, solution focused, IFS, DBT, art, client-centered, guided imagery, and gestalt.
 
She has experience working with women suffering from after birth and postpartum depression. She has worked with Nitza (The Israel Center for Maternal Care) for many years. She has also worked for many educational institutions and therapy clinics in Jerusalem, Bnai Brak, and Modiin Ilit. She has facilitated groups for children in social skills development. She has treated disorders such as selective mutism, fears, and other behavioral difficulties.
 
Besides her private practice, Tamar works for Taazumot, a family and children’s clinic. She also teaches psychology courses in Naaleh College.
